Tasmania’s Dark Mofo

Australia’s Financial Review lists Cassils as one of “Dark Mofo’s Works to Watch Out For”…

“During the second week of the festival Canadian performance artist Cassils will perform Tiresias in which the artist will press their body against the back of a neoclassical male torso carved from ice which slowly melts in response to the artist’s body heat. A filmed performance of Cassils’s Inextinguishable Fire, turns a 14 second full-body burn into 14 minutes of slow motion.”
